This monday, the Danish Dining Guide– assisted by GastroNorth – launches the “Best in North Jutland” press-covered lottery draw, to decide which restaurants meet in the stand offs.  If you book quickly, you get to eat alongside the official jurymembers, taste what they taste and have a sneakpeak at their voting, when restaurants competes in the 2018 two and two stand offs at who makes the best menu.

The cream of cream among North Jutland’s top restaurants all have lots in the drawing bowl when lots are drawn to 1st round of Best in North Jutland on Monday.
In addition to the GastroNorth restaurants (Ruth’s Gourmet, Vendia Gourmet, Fusion and Mortens Kro), great names like Brøndums, Tabu, Applaus, Blokhus Strandhotel, Strandingskroen, La Locanda, Textur, Musikens Spisehus and Hotel Amerika in Hobro also participate; so far there’s a total of 14 restaurants.
Last, but not least, restaurant San Giovanni is a part of the tournament, and also serves as the place where the Danish Dining Guide’s nominee editor and jury chairman, Bent Christensen, will lead the drawing, which takes place on Monday at. 12.00, covered by local and regional press.
Successfully, The Danish Dining Guide has been in the forefront for a similar tournament in Zealand in recent years.

“We are very pleased that so many high-profiled North Jutland restaurants wants to participate up here, where we see so much uplifting action on the gastronomy front these years,” says Bent Christensen. Once the competition runs, Bent Christensen will be joined by several senior expert non-Danish judges, to ensure that all verdicts are fair and professional.

Now is your chance to experience one of the stand offs, and be the judge when two restaurants simultaneously cook the same menu, for customers and jury to eat and assess. Maybe it will be Fusion and Strandingkro’s versions of the same menu, or how about Tabu opposite Vendia Goumet? We will know by Monday. The exciting combinations seems to promise some very interesting North Jutland eating experiences in the New Year.  We will publish the draw results and eventdates here. Seating is limited, so keep a lookout and make sure to book your place at the table for some very interesting eating nights, and be the judge of whether the jury’s decisions are according to your taste.
