Now is the season for two of the most famous independent restaurant guides in Denmark to publish their 2018 editions. On Sunday evening the Danish Dining Guide published their 2018 edition, and on November 20, White Guide announces their latest ranking of Danish top restaurants.  However, White Guide just published a press release, with the revelation that the guide’s reviewers designate 15 North Jutland top restaurants among what they consider to be the country’s 125 best restaurants.  Most interestingly, we find five new names among the 15, namely the talented Nam, Tabu and Textur restaurants in Aalborg, as well as Læsø Spisehus and Strandingskroen in Blokhus.
In addition, there are the 10 celebrities who already participated last year, namely the GastroNorth member restaurants Fusion, Bühlmann, Mortens Kro, Ruth’s Gourmet and Vendia Gourmet.  Restaurants CANblau, Applaus, Brøndums Hotel , Vendia Brasserie and Villa West are also on the list. Big congratulations to everyone.

As soon as White Guide is released on November 20th, we look forward to presenting the individual North Jutland ranking, and not least the North Jutland ranking compared to the country’s other top restaurants.

White Guide launches their 2018 edition at an event at The Opera House in Copenhagen, followed by a gala dinner at Sølyst.
Rankings such as these are monumentally important in GastroNorth’s ultimate goal: the effort to rise international awareness of North Jutland’s top gastronomy.
Ultimately, we hope to get the awareness of the Guide Michelin, an honor we believe the region fully deserves.
White Guide’s press release states that all of the 125 mentioned Danish restaurants have achieved at least 28 out of 40 possible points for their gastronomy according to White Guides special assessment system – and hence the classification “Very Good Class”.
This is all very promising for Danish Gastronomy.
